Chocolate nests for easter cupcakes

Making chocolate straw is easy.  You can make any colour by adding food colour to white chocolate and proceeding as below.

You'll need:
  •  a marble slab-off cuts are available in stone cutters and tile shops-be sure the slab can fit in your freezer.
  • a palate knife or knife
  • a piping bag filled with chocolate
  • buns or a lined tray to put the 'nests' on
  • mini eggs and chickens (optional)
Freeze the slab at least 30minutes

Remove from freezer, wait a few minute or two-if you start straight away, the chocolate will usually break.

If any condensation has formed on the slab, wipe quickly with kitchen paper
Quickly pipe some chocolate over the marble slab
Quickly lift off the chocolate with the help of the palette knife
Curl  the strands with your hands and place lift on to a prepared cake or tray

Pipe on some chocolate so that mini eggs and little chickens will stick
Stick on mini eggs and chicks
